JENIN’S FREEDOM THEATRE: VOICE OF RESISTANCE by director Eyad Hourani bears witness to the extraudinary resilience, hope and strength of the founder and performers of Jenin’s Freedom Theatre, a sanctuary for the youth in the Jenin refugee camp in occupied Palestine. The film documents Mahmoud Aby Aita as he leads his aspiring young actors in rehearsinf for a performance abroad, despite what seems like a never-ending trauma from which there is no escape, Mahmoud’s unwavering belief in the possibility of change underlies his commitment to helping his students heal, broaden their horizons and envision a future beyond the devastating Israeli occupation.
